Getting 3 months vacation
- Working for the right company, asking it from the right people at the right time, having the right motivation and determination. Thanks to Mikki and Svein Erik for signing it and to all the people that supported me.
Visa process started 4 months before the start of the journey.
USA
- you already have one so skip it
Canada
- print some bank statements, the prove that you own some stuff around Romania (the “Cartificat de Inmatriculare” for both the Yamaha and the KTM), fill in a form, get rejected for 10 minutes because you don’t have the right photo, get a good photo, go back, leave the photo, come back in 3 hours and get the visa
Mongolia
- have a word with the Honourary Consul of Mongolia in Bucharest, enjoy a long talk with her about the country and get the visa in the passport
Azerbaidjan
- go the the embassy, fill in a form, get the visa in 3days. If you are Cri, get a LOI from Nazli and get the visa (by Ralu)
Kazachstan
- get a LOI (letter of invitation) from Stantours (well, they subleased to Navigant Tours or smth like that) approved from the Kazach ministery of interior. It takes a while
- ask Ralu for help, let her go to the Kazach embassy with the LOI, your pass, a photo and a smile and let her get your visa in 1 week
Uzbekistan
- get a LOI (David from Stantours again)
- ask Ralu to send your pass to Cri in Viena, let Cri go the the Uzbek embassy, have yourself shipped to Viena for a couple of days because the Uzbek man wants to see you in person, get the visa, give your pass back to Cri
Turkmenistan
- have your Kaz and Uz visas in the pass
- ask again Cri for help, let her go with it to the Turkmen embassy in Viena and have a transit visa in your pass after 5 days
Russia
- get the LOI (Stantours again) sent to Pisi by DHL (the russian embassy needs the original approved by the ministery of interior)
- ask Cri to send your pass from Viena to Bucharest through a friend
- ask Ralu to colect your pass from the friend and the LOI from Pisi and take them to the Russian Embassy in Bucharest together with a prove of inssurance
- go to Bucharest, pick your visa from the Russians, 4 days after Ralu left the stuff with them. Be happy and wait for Cri’s Azeri visa
Georgia
- Georgia: very easy, no visa needed. Very liberal country, all made easy.
Armenia
- We’ll get it at the border with Georgia
Oh… yes… and money, everywhere. Don’t know how much, didn’t sum yet. Maybe I’ll make a sum.
